WATER MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Rain Water Harvesting Design

We offer consultancy services to our clients for Rainwater Harvesting and Ground Water Management. Our water management consultancy service can help in solving water problems and water related expenses.

Rainwater harvesting is one of the oldest method for accumulation and storage of rainwater for reuse as domestic water, rather than allowing it to run off. It is the vital supplementary source of water as now a days, the scarcity of water is a major issue, it is needed to attain self-sufficiency to fulfill the water needs. Groundwater is getting depleted and polluted, causing health hazards due to consumption of polluted water. Rainwater harvesting is an environmentally sound solution to address issues brought forth by large projects utilizing centralized water management approaches. Rainwater harvesting may be one of the best methods available to recover the natural water cycle and enable urban development to become sustainable.

Rainwater can be stored for direct use in above ground or underground sumps / overhead tanks and used directly for flushing, gardening, washing etc. or can be used to recharge the ground water through recharge pits, dug wells, soak pits, bore wells, recharge trenches, etc.

Benefits:
•    Rainwater is a comparatively clean and totally free, source of water.
•    It can be used for agriculture, irrigation, laundry use, etc.
•    It can reduce the overdependence on municipal water supply, saving money as well as time.
•    It is socially acceptable and environmentally responsible.
•    It can be used to recharge groundwater.

Hydrogeological Studies

Hydrogeological study aims to explore the possibility of identifying a groundwater source for domestic and commercial water supply. The study evaluates the groundwater situation, mapping of aquifers, establish protection perimeters for groundwater pumping, assessment of water quality, etc. The study is carried out through collecting the samples and available data such as drilling logs, surrounding borehole, field geophysical measurements. These studies are identifies the geological formations associated with aquifers or the depth of groundwater, groundwater situation etc.

We conduct Source Vulnerability Analysis (SVA), i.e. Hydrological and Hydrogeological studies for surface and groundwater resource evaluation and its vulnerability in terms of quantity and quality for existing or proposed manufacturing facilities. We prepare report as per the preference of our clients and new regulations of the Water Resource Department and the Groundwater authority.

We offer a wide range of hydrogeological services, including:

Evaluation of the proposed surface water supply source

  1. Delineation of micro-watersheds governing the hydrogeology of the site based on primary and secondary data

  2. Groundwater Source Availability Assessment

  3. Hydrogeological investigations: hydraulic conductivity testing (falling/rising head tests, pumping tests and percolation tests), monitoring, groundwater quality assessments, chemical sampling and analysis, geophysical surveys and borehole geophysics

  4. Groundwater assessment: flow and transport, rates and mechanisms, availability and vulnerability of groundwater, recharge rates, surface and groundwater interactions

  5. Groundwater modelling: development of conceptual and mathematical (analytical and numerical) models of groundwater flow and quality

  6. Design and installation of boreholes for water supply or monitoring.

  7. Assessment of surface water source quality, vulnerability and source water protection plan by identifying the surface pollutants and its impact. This task will involve chemical analysis of water samples.

Total Water Management (TWM)

In India, industry uses about 6% of available water. The demands of a rapidly industrializing economy and urbanizing society face limited potential for augmenting supply, falling water tables and severe water quality issues.

We help our clients to solve their complex water challenges to deliver the required quantity and quality of water. We assist in establishing programmes to analyse the entire water cycle to reuse and recycle water and to develop sustainable water supplies, improve water quality, and reduce impacts of storm water in a cost-effective manner.

Through TWM, wastewater and storm water become water supply assets to meet water demands based on the clients' needs, and land uses are analyzed to reduce impermeable surfaces to allow water to be retained on site.

We also assist in calculating the water footprint of a selected unit based on total volume of freshwater used to produce goods and services by the business. Water use will be measured in water volume consumed (evaporated) and/or polluted per unit of time. The water footprint thus formed will act as a geographically explicit indicator, not only showing volumes of water use and pollution, but also the locations.
