Founded in 2001 with just two people and five clients in the first year, INDUS have come a long way. The vision of Atul Kansal was to build an international consulting firm with strong and deep-rooted ethics and values. We are a proud Indian organization committed to providing the highest level of quality service to its clients. We have grown like a bamboo tree, steadying and strengthening our roots all these years. Now we feel it is time for us to grow into a full-fledged tree. Starting from our first client DELPHI in 2001, INDUS today serves more than 550 multinational clients from the US, Europe, and Japan for their existing and new projects in India and Southeast Asia.

In 2003 we introduced Envirotrends®, a service to ensure that clients have a clear understanding of the laws before they can implement it. We felt it was unfair to audit them when they were not even aware of what was expected of them either by law or by any other applicable standard. Envirotrends® has helped in creating awareness amongst our clientele for ensuring compliance. Today we have increased the scope of our focus to include Health, Safety, and Social and State Level Updates. There is perhaps no other service of this standard and quality anywhere in the world.

In 2004, INDUS became an approved consultant of World Bank and was awarded a project under its Renewable Energy Programmes. It was an important milestone for us. We successfully completed the project. Since then we have been a trusted consultant of IFC/World Bank. We have recently contributed to IFC’s report on ‘Doing Business in India’ and continue to be involved in contributing to World Bank’s reports and publications.

In 2012, with a vision to promote knowledge sharing, INDUS prepared a book based on the Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2008. We have since launched a series of publications covering specific issues under the INDUS GEMS series. Publications under this series have been highly appreciated by our clients and these work as references for EHS Managers and other professionals.
